Chemical Shelf Life

⛱️ 🧹As you clear out the shed to access your patio furniture this weekend, have a look at your leftover pool chemicals from last season. Odds are they're still good! Most of your dry, granular products are unaffected by cold temperatures and can last 3-5 years. If liquid products were brought into the garage to prevent freezing, they're probably fine too. Here's a quick checklist to confirm quality:
✅ Container undamaged
✅ Stored away from direct sunlight
✅ Lid tightly sealed
✅ No moisture in container
✅ Liquids: Never frozen?
❌ Liquid Chlorine: That's practically water now, sorry.
If you tick all these boxes, you've got a head start on your initial chemical adjustment. Make note of how full each of those containers are before heading to your local pool store for the first water test of the season - and avoid buying yet ANOTHER bucket of Calcium! 😅
