Hot Tub Cleaning

💧🧽 Now's the perfect time to drain and clean your hot tub before the holiday season is upon us. Proper maintenance not only ensures a safe, relaxing soak for you and your guests, but also extends the life of your spa. Here's what you need to do to get those pipes clean and sparkling before the parties start:

🫧 Use a Pipe-Cleaning product. Most pool and spa supply stores stock a product designed to lift biofilm build-up from inside your hot tub's guts. Add the product as specified and run your hot tub to allow the solution to fully circulate. Check the label to determine whether your filter should remain in or not.

🫧 Drain the tub. Now that the pipes are cleaned, fully drain the hot tub using its built in drain valve or a small submersible pump.

🫧 Clean the tub body. Using a tub-safe product, sponge down seats, headrests and jet fittings to remove any stuck on residue. Rinse throughly and drain again.

🫧 Clean your filter. If its relatively new, a quick rinse with the garden hose should do it. For dirtier filters, pre-soak using a filter cleaning product to get a deep clean before rinsing.

🫧 Refill & Balance. Depending on your source water, you may not have to make any major adjustments to your water chemistry short of adding sanitizer. It's still a good idea to bring a sample to your local pool company for detailed dosage instructions. Don't forget to add an enzyme product to help your sanitizer along!
