Most pools may already be closed, but hot tub season is just picking up! Is there anything better than a hot soak on a cool night? 🧖♀️ Make sure you’re getting the most out of your experience by following these simple hot tub maintenance tips:
🫧 Check Chemistry Often: Chemical balance can get quickly out of whack in a small body of water. Small, regular adjustments to your sanitizer, pH and other levels will help prevent wild fluctuations and potential health and safety issues.
🫧 Clean Filters: At minimum, remove and rinse your filter every 2-4 weeks. Using a specially formulated filter cleaning solution can remove oil build-up and other contaminants to further extend its lifespan.
🫧 Drain & Refill: Every time you use your hot tub or shock and adjust your chemistry, you contribute to the Total Dissolved Solids level. A full drain, pipe clean and refill every 3-4 months is recommended to lower TDS and keep water clear and sanitizer working effectively.
Remember, your health and safety comes first. If there’s something suspicious about your water test or clarity, double check your water balance with a pool professional. For bigger problems, call The Pool Mechanix.
