What Your Water Test is Telling You

With modern technology, we can take two millilitres and two minutes and tell you everything about your pool chemistry. But what if that doesn't solve your problems? Certain scenarios look clear-cut on paper, but have a different story happening behind the scenes. Here’s what your water symptoms may be trying to tell you-

🔮 Good Balance, Always Green & Cloudy: You’ve shocked. You’ve clarified. You’ve backwashed, rinsed your cartridges, vacuumed to Waste and shocked again, but your pool is still a mess. The culprit: Your filter sucks! Ask yourself when you last changed your filter sand or cartridges. If you can’t remember, or you think the previous homeowner might have (they didn’t), we may have solved your problem.

🔮 Foggy water + Low Alkalinity: You must’ve dumped 3 pails of alkalinity booster in there and your level is still abysmal, not to mention the constant haziness.The culprit: Do you use pucks? If you answered Yes, your stabilizer level is too high. Pucks have built-in stabilizer which accumulates over the season, affecting alkalinity and chlorine efficiency. To lower stabilizer, partially drain and refill your pool to dilute with fresh water.

🔮 Crystal clear water, but 3rd heater in 5 years: Have you checked your pH lately? Your water is crystal clear because Nothing Can Grow In It. Your pH is either too high (salt water) or too low (pucks, again) to sustain any life - including algae.
