Warmer weather tends to give many of us a motivation boost and drives us out into the yard. Here are some pro pool opening tips to ensure you’re making the most of your newfound productivity:
🦠 Open early to avoid algae! Stagnant water sitting under the hot sun is an invitation for algae growth - we’re looking at you, safety covers!
🧪 Add an Opening Chemical Kit. No, it isn’t a cash grab by the big pool companies. Start your pool off right by adding shock, algaecide and a metals/stain prevention product at open. Algaecide and stain prevention should be part of your monthly upkeep after all!
💧Safety covers: Don’t lower the water right away! Vacuum that first layer of algae and debris on the Waste or filter bypass setting and lower the water level and your filter’s workload in one go.
🛠️ DIYers: Phone a friend! While it may be possible to open the pool by yourself, you can save yourself time and back pain by getting someone to help you with the heavy lifting. Better yet, call a professional 💪
